For a third consecutive year, Diverse, the only bi-weekly newsmagazine focusing on matters of access, diversity, inclusion and opportunity in higher education, identified a group of 10 exceptional graduate students based on their standout scholarship thus far and their trajectory toward a promising future in academia and beyond.
Glenn Gilyot, a graduate student at studying chemistry, will be recognized in the July 6 edition of Diverse: Issues In Higher Education.
As a part of the Office of Academic Access Leadership & Development in the Division of Inclusion, Diversity and Equity, Gilyot mentors undergraduate students through programs such as Graduate Scholars of Excellence, and spearheads the STEM Cubs initiative among other professional and organizational involvement.
In his time at the University of Missouri, Gilyot’s dedication has had an impact on hundreds of students, their families and the Columbia community. Undergraduate students, and his fellow graduate students are better leaders, communicators and educators through engagement with Glenn. He raises the visibility and approachability of STEM as an area of study and potential career field.
