All departments are required to have promotion and tenure policies (for both TT and NTT faculty) that have been discussed and approved by the faculty in that unit. Having clear policies that are regularly revisited by the faculty is essential for supporting faculty success. It is also important that these policies be easily accessible to all candidates seeking promotion and/or tenure.

Please note that in the cases where departments follow the college policies, you will not see a specific policy for that department. This is often true when it comes to NTT promotion guidelines. In those cases, please confirm with your department chair that the college policy is the one that is being use by the department.
