First Class is Mizzou’s Academic Convocation for all incoming first-year and transfer students to celebrate the start of their academic journeys and learn how the university community is prepared to support their experiences.
First Class will be held on Sunday, August 23 at 2 p.m. in the Hearnes Center.
Faculty are encouraged to attend to support incoming students. The event will be livestreamed for family and friends.
Please note, this event will operate under a clear bag policy. The following bags are allowed:
- Clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags that do not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″;
- One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags (such as Ziploc or similar); and
- Small clutch bags, with or without a handle or strap, that do not exceed 4.5″ x 6.5″
(about the size of a hand).
