JR Swanegan is assistant dean of enrollment management and financial aid at the School of Law. A two-time Mizzou graduate, he earned his bachelor’s degree in political science and Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri. Swanegan has more than 20 years of experience in higher education administration, with leadership roles spanning enrollment management, academic and student programming, international education, mentoring, academic support and student success. Before returning to Mizzou Law in 2019, he served as assistant dean of international and graduate programs at Stetson University College of Law and held several positions at Mizzou, including leadership roles in the College of Engineering and School of Law.
As a Faculty Fellow for Special Projects in the Office of the Provost, Swanegan works with Associate Provost for Academic Programs Shruti Rana to support academic programs and strategic initiatives. His work includes program assessment and development, mentoring and faculty development initiatives, support for prestigious awards, and other projects advancing academic programs and faculty success across the university.
