Debora Bell

Dr. Bell is Professor and Chair of the Department of Psychological Sciences. Her research, teaching and professional passions include child emotional and behavioral adjustment and education and training in health service psychology. Since arriving at Mizzou more than 35 years ago as a newly-minted PhD, she has devoted a large part of her career to promoting success across the academic community. Her roles as director of Mizzou’s accredited doctoral program in clinical psychology, department chair, and leadership in several national academic education and training organizations have allowed her to develop and advance programs, policies and practices that support holistic success of students and faculty across a range of education and career stages and pathways. As a past participant in multiple professional development programs, Dr. Bell recognizes the value of professional development in helping people thrive in their careers. As Faculty Fellow for Faculty Success, Dr. Bell will be overseeing faculty development programs for early, mid, and senior career faculty (Learning and Expanding Abilities for the Professoriate (LEAP) Fellows, Mid-Career Fellows, Full Professor programming), the Connection faculty support program, and the Great Books and Internal Awards programs.
