Carolyn Orbann

Carolyn Orbann is an anthropologist whose research and teaching focuses on culture and health, She is particularly interested in how human culture and behavior interacts with the spread of infection diseases like measles and influenza in historical. She got her PhD at Mizzou and joined the Health Sciences Department in 2013 in an NTT faculty role. During her time in Health Sciences, she has served as the Coordinator of International and Intercultural Experiences, the CHS Faculty Fellow for Undergraduate Research and liaison to the Office of Undergraduate Research, and she currently serves as the Chair of the Faculty Council on University Policy. She is also an affiliate faculty member in the MU Honors College and the NextGen Center for Influenza and Emerging Infectious Diseases. As a Fellow for Faculty Success in the Provost’s Office she will help deliver programming to support faculty development and celebrate faculty achievements, including New Faculty Orientation, Years of Service Celebration, and Faculty Excellence Week activities.
