Call for External Awards Faculty Fellow

The Office of the Provost is seeking applications for a Faculty Fellow to support its efforts to help faculty apply for and obtain external awards and to foster a culture of innovation and distinction in research and scholarship. This Fellow will work with the External Awards Team in the Office of the Provost on Mizzou’s external awards programs and initiatives.

The Fellow will support the Provost’s Office in helping faculty identify, apply for, and receive prestigious and highly prestigious awards. They will provide 1:1 support to faculty during the application and nomination processes for highly prestigious and prestigious awards. The Fellow will also help organize events, webinars and programs that provide faculty with resources and information about these and other external awards. The Fellow will work with faculty across a range of disciplines and career stages and should have an interest in and/or experience with advising, mentoring, or supporting faculty as they translate research goals into competitive award strategies. They should also be comfortable supporting faculty pursuing awards in a variety of research areas.

The workload for this Fellow position is expected to be approximately six hours per week during the academic year. We anticipate this position will begin in August 2026 with flexibility to accommodate pre-existing commitments. Job Duties:

  • Support, mentor and advise faculty in applying for highly prestigious and prestigious awards, as well as other awards identified by the Provost’s Office
  • Meet with faculty members 1:1 to support them in the application process
  • Develop and facilitate events, webinars and resources for faculty on external awards
  • Support faculty from a range of disciplines and career stages and gain an understanding of the awards landscape across disciplines
  • Attend regular meetings with the External Awards Team to plan and implement external awards events and initiatives
  • Communicate with academic programs and faculty members about external awards and related initiatives
  • Learn about faculty needs and experiences across campus to inform external awards programming
  • Other duties as assigned
