The Office of Academic Access and Leadership Development (AALD) plays a crucial role in enhancing student success through pivotal support at every stage of the educational journey. Aligned with MU’s strategic priorities for student success, AALD offers programming and resources designed to cultivate academic and professional development, while fostering efforts surrounding recruitment, retention, and degree completion.
Spring 2026 STEM Cubs
On Saturday, April 4, AALD with the College of Education and Human Development and College of Engineering will host the Spring 2026 STEM Cubs event for K-8 youth in mid-Missouri. Campus faculty, staff and students can get involved as instructors and volunteers for this popular outreach event. Learn more about STEM Cubs involvement.

TRiO McNair Scholars Program
The McNair Scholars Program provides undergraduates with comprehensive preparation for graduate study through faculty-guided research, professional development, and personalized support. This year’s cohort is making impressive progress as they begin to wrap up their projects and plan the next steps in their academic journeys. AALD Student Success Coaching announces Spring workshop schedule

AALD’s student success coaches released the Spring 2026 “Focusing on You” workshop schedule on MU Engage. RSVP for the upcoming programs and events:

MCAC hosts spring in-service for advisers in Columbia
In February, Missouri College Advising Corps (MCAC) brought its college advisers together in Columbia for two dynamic days of learning and growth. Sessions covered apprenticeships, financial aid award packages, and student loan literacy, along with strategies to boost junior-year engagement and plan meaningful student recognition events. Advisers also participated in workshops on strengthening their professional branding and supporting personal wellness.
Their adviser in-service training offered a powerful blend of practical skill‑building and holistic development to better serve high school students across Missouri.
