  • Provost & Executive Vice Chancellor Search Committee Appointed

    The committee will work over the next six months to identify candidates for this important leadership role for Mizzou. I have asked Joi Moore, Professor and Director of the School of Information Science & Learning Technologies, and Marshall Stewart, Vice Chancellor for Extension and Engagement, to co-chair the committee that will identify candidates and carry out the open search process.

  • Jim Spain Appointed Interim Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs

    Dr. Jim Spain has agreed to serve as interim provost and executive vice chancellor for academic affairs, effective Feb. 1. A member of the University of Missouri faculty since 1990, Dr. Spain has extensive administrative experience, including service as vice provost for undergraduate studies; vice provost for eLearning; assistant dean of academic programs for the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources; and director of the MU Student Success Center.

  • Patricia Okker Appointed Dean of College of Arts & Science

    Okker has been at the University of Missouri since 1990, and has previously served as chair of the Department of English and senior associate provost. While serving in the provost’s office, Okker was responsible for academic program reviews, strategic planning, leadership development and academic personnel issues. She has served as interim dean of the College of Arts and Science since August 2016. During that time, she launched a career-readiness program for A&S students and oversaw the creation of the School of Visual Studies and approval of the School of Music new building project.

  • MU Graduate Studies Announces STAR Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Scholar Teaching Research Mini-Grants

    MU Office of Graduate Studies is pleased to announce the first annual call for proposals for Student Teaching as Research (STAR) Projects. All MU graduate students and postdoctoral scholars are eligible to apply for a $1,500 mini-grant to conduct small research projects on undergraduate/graduate teaching and learning methods and impacts. A total of ten grants are available this year. The deadline for the application is 5:00 pm on Oct. 25th, 2017.
