Submit requests for faculty emeritus/emerita titles to the Office of the Provost inbox email@example.com anytime during the academic year. Requests may also be submitted in person to 114 Jesse Hall.
In cases where the requested title does not meet the criteria of 320.090.A, the chair or director should recommend the request to the dean. The dean will refer the recommendation to the appropriate faculty committee for peer review and consent. Once obtained, and the dean concurs, the request should be addressed to the Office of the Provost.
If approved, the request for emeritus designation is forwarded to the chancellor.
Accompanying letters of endorsement from the chair or director and from the dean should include the following:
- Name and title
- Service date
- Last day of duty
- Tenure status
- Home address
Emeritus requests for Curators’ Distinguished Professor or Curators’ Distinguished Teaching Professor should also include:
- Updated curators’ distinguished professorship nomination executive summary
- Updated c.v. if available
