President’s Award for Research and Creativity
(Intercampus Competition)
Purpose
To honor a University of Missouri faculty member for a sustained nationally and internationally recognized record of research and/or creativity.
Award
The award is for $15,000, which may be distributed between a cash award and/or being placed in a nonrestrictive campus account.
Eligibility
Nominees must be full-time, regular faculty members who have been employed by the University of Missouri for at least five years prior to September 1, 2007. Each campus may submit one nomination.
Nominations
There is no standard format for nominations. Nomination materials should not be sent in a hard binder or notebook. Nomination materials will not be returned to the campus. The final nomination package should include the following:
- a cover letter summarizing the nominee's research and/or creative accomplishments
- a current curriculum vita
- supporting evidence of nationally and internationally recognized research and/or creativity
- letters of reference (maximum of 15)
- a list of the references submitting supporting letters which indicates each reference's relationship to the nominee and include any information about each reference's qualifications, which may be helpful to the Committee
- a one-page personal statement from the nominee stating his/her research and/or creative objectives
Submissions
Deadline: January 21 at noon (or closest business day)
Nominations and supporting materials must be submitted by the Divisional Dean. Submit an electronic version as an email attachment to umcprovostawards@missouri.edu, naming each document starting with the applicant's last name followed by a document reference (i.e., Jones-Pres Rsch application). Send only the original copy of the entire proposal packet to:
