Colleagues,

I'm very pleased to announce that Dr. Carolyn Henry will serve as the interim dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, effective August 1, with a national dean search beginning this fall.

Dr. Henry has devoted her talent and expertise to Mizzou for 20 years. She has a joint appointment in veterinary medicine and the School of Medicine, and she is board certified in the ACVIM specialty of oncology. She has served for several years as Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies for the College of Veterinary Medicine and as Associate Director of Research for the Ellis Fischel Cancer Center. She is also the inaugural One Health/One Medicine facilitator for the Mizzou Advantage initiative.

In addition to her leadership roles on campus, Dr. Henry is recognized by health professionals internationally as an outstanding researcher, scholar and speaker. She received a bachelor's degree in animal science and biology with a minor in chemistry, graduating magna cum laude from Eastern Kentucky University, and earned a doctor of veterinary medicine cum laude and master’s degree in small animal surgery and medicine from Auburn University.

Time and again, Dr. Henry has demonstrated excellence in her leadership roles at Mizzou. I am confident she will provide clear vision and direction for the College of Veterinary Medicine during her tenure.

Please join me in welcoming Dr. Carolyn Henry as interim dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine.

Sincerely,

Garnett S. Stokes
